I am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia. I have a degree in Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Queensland and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
These, along with the successful completion of the Financial Adviser Exam and the FASEA Ethics for Professional Advisers programme in 2020, ensure that my qualifications are in full compliance with the requirements mandated by Australian Government legislation which established the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA) in April 2017 to set standards for the education, training and ethics of licensed financial advisers in Australia.
After beginning my career in banking and then moving to private enterprise in my earlier working life, I joined pioneering Queensland financial planning firm Whittaker Macnaught in 2007. The years pre- and post-GFC provided great experience and a real insight into market behaviours and investor strategies.
With the end of Whittaker Macnaught in 2013 three of my WM colleagues and I took the opportunity to keep looking after our clients and, together, we established Solace Financial.
We take great satisfaction and pride in together having grown Solace into a respected and trusted firm with a reputation for building strong long-term relationships with our clients and their families.
I am a fan of most sports, particularly soccer, rugby league, and cricket. I am a born and bred Queenslander so naturally I support the Brisbane Roar, the Broncos, and the Mighty Maroons! Aside from sport I enjoy reading, relaxing on any of our beautiful Queensland beaches and spending time with my two adult daughters and my wife Tracey.
